How to Fix Project Web Access Error on Windows 8?

So you just installed or have a new computer with Windows 8 and you’re attempting to access Project Web Access (PWA) on Project Server 2010. You can access the PWA site, but you receive the following error when selecting the Project Center:

“This Web Part requires at least Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0. For more information, contact your Project Server Administrator”

The same error occurs when accessing the Resource Center.

How to Upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8 Enterprise (Step by Step)

windows-8-logoNow you might be thinking to yourself, just install the Windows 8 Enterprise media and just select the Upgrade option and you should be done. Well normally you would be right except for 1 small problem…

You can’t upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8 Enterprise. Sad smile

Windows 8: How to Safely Delete $WINDOWS.~BT and Windows.old Folders

Well I finally decided to upgrade my Lenovo ThinkPad W520 from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Release Preview. The upgrade worked flawlessly (thank you Microsoft!). So I’m checking out my new digs on the new OS and opened up Windows Explorer. Very nice! The new ribbon feature add great additional functionality to the tool. But I saw that there were a few new folders added ($WINDOWS.~BT and Windows.old). Naturally I assumed that it was the folders used in upgrade process.So I decided to continue and investigate more of the new functions of the OS.

In the end, the final verdict was this build was Rock Solid!!
