So I’m working on an EPM project in a virtualized Dev environment. Creating custom fields, defining security groups, etc., etc. and also creating some enterprise calendars for specific countries (US, Canada, England and Australia) that included their national/regional holidays. Took a fair bit of time getting it right (especially with the Aussie calendars)
In my last posting, I showed you how to Slipstream SP2 and Cumulative Updates into the Project Server 2007 RTM bits.
Well an interesting thing happened after I rebooted the Project Server for the first time.
I received the following Service Control Manager error:
So now I’m thinking, Uh Oh
That’s not good
I do a fair bit of consulting / training and in order to cut down the installation and updating time, I’ve slipstreamed SP2 and the Cumulative Updates into my RTM bits. Because there’s no sense getting started with the configuration until the infrastructure is rock solid. So I have decided to post my Graphical Step-by-Step procedure. Here it is:
In this procedure I will be using Project Server 2007 RTM bits, but you can substitute for MOSS 2007 RTM bits. Either one will work. Also the folder names I use can be changed to whatever suites your needs. Just make sure that you can tell the x86 and x64 bits apart
