You’ve been tasked to download and test the Microsoft 2010 IW Demo VM that can be found at the Microsoft Download Center:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=27417
You have over 44 files to download and each file are mostly 700 MB in size. You start the process by clicking the download button for each file.
However you are limited to 3 download sessions at one time and limited by the amount of download speed
So how do you speed up the download process?

Was pleasantly surprised to find out that there will be 7 sessions on Microsoft Project 2010 and Project Server 2010 at this year’s SharePoint Conference in Anaheim, California, October 3-6, 2011.
BTW, if you’re a PMP you need to attend Dux Raymond Sy’s session, not only will you be enjoy his session, (as Dux is a great speaker), but you’ll definitely learn something and the bonus is you’ll get 1 PDU attending the sessions
Hopefully, we’ll see you there!!
Here’s the session list:

So here’s a couple of good questions for my geek friends out there…
1. How many of you went to your Microsoft TechNet Subscriber account to get the latest and greatest Office Professional Plus 2010 OR Project 2010 OR Visio 2010 today?
I’m sure quite a lot, if not all of you did
2. Now many of you immediately went and downloaded the 64 bit version?
After all, your computer’s operating system is probably Windows 7 64 bit right?
3. Did you get a chance to read the View Details, before clicking the Download link?

Quoted directly from the Microsoft Office 2010 Engineering product development group blog:
“…In addition to the Office 2010 Technology Guarantee, were excited to confirm that Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010 and Project 2010 are on schedule and will release to manufacturing (RTM) next month.
For businesses, we will launch the 2010 set of products, including Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010, and Project 2010 worldwide on May 12. To find out more about the Worldwide Business Launch, visit http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/businessproductivity/proof/pages/2010-launch-events.aspx.
For consumers, Office 2010 will be available online and on retail shelves this June.”

When James Seymour from Microsoft Learning posted a blog entry on the Born to Learn site about the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Certification Exams, I decided to email him to ask when he will be announcing the Project & Project Server 2010 exams.
J. was nice enough to reply back and say that they “don’t get as many requests about Project so I don’t have any immediate plans for a post about them.” Now that may surprise you, but you have to understand that in the world of Microsoft Certification, the number of people that took Project & Project Server 2007 exams were very low as compared to the WSS 3.0 and SharePoint Server 2007 exams.
So I took his message to mean that it’s really not on his radar, so I figured I had nothing to lose by asking him if I could blog about it. His reply?

About a month ago I had the opportunity to be interviewed by Richard Campbell and Greg Hughes from RunAs Radio to talk about Microsoft Project 2010 desktop and Microsoft Project Server 2010. Nothing really deep (it’s at 200 level) but some very good questions from a non-Project Manager’s perspective.

With all the excitement from the sessions at the Project Conference last month and the SharePoint Conference this week and working with the Technical Preview software, I was gently reminded by my friend Christine, if I heard anything about the Project 2010 Certification Exam(s).
DOH! It totally slipped my mind.
So I send out a couple emails to some old friends that work at Microsoft Learning (MSL) to inquire about the exams, AND….
